Change the Default Startup Setting

You can use Windows 2000 Services to configure the default state of your SMTP virtual servers at startup.

To change the default startup setting:

  1. Start Services
    On the Start menu, point to Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Services.
  2. In the console tree, click Services (Local).
  3. In the details pane, right-click Simple Mail Transport Protocol (SMTP), and then click Properties.
  4. On the General tab, next to Startup type, click Automatic, Manual, or Disabled.
