The Microsoft® Exchange Server Analyzer Tool queries the Active Directory® directory service to determine whether the value for the mailNickname attribute on the journaling recipient object is valid. The nickname must be set for the mailNickname attribute to be valid. If the mailNickname attribute for the nominated journaling recipient object is not valid, journaling messages will queue. Also, the invalid mailNickname may indicate that journaling has been configured to copy journaling messages to a recipient object that is mailbox-disabled. If the Exchange Server Analyzer finds that the value for the mailNickname attribute for the journaling recipient object is not valid, the Exchange Server Analyzer displays an error.
To correct this error for Exchange Server 2003, use Active Directory Users and Computers and Exchange System Manager to accomplish the following as required:
- Mailbox-enable the journal-recipient object.
- Designate a new user mailbox as the journaling recipient.
