Exchange Server 2010 setup displayed this warning because there is no Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) connector or Send connector in the current Exchange environment that is using an address space with the wildcard character of '*'.

The '*' character indicates that the SMTP or Send connector can be used to relay messages to all external SMTP addresses.

If no SMTP or Send connector with an address space of '*' exists, mail flow to the Internet may not work properly.

To address this warning, configure at least one SMTP or Send connector with an address space that has the wildcard character '*'.

For more information about routing mail to the Internet, see "Routing to External Domains" (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=134009).
