The Microsoft® Exchange Server Analyzer Tool queries the Active Directory® directory service to determine the value for the gatewayProxy attribute of each recipient policy object. If the Exchange Server Analyzer finds a recipient policy object that contains the string SMTP:% in its gatewayProxy attribute, a non-default configuration message is displayed.
If you have modified a recipient policy to generate Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) addresses by using replacement strings, your recipient policy will include variables. Using variables in the default recipient policy can cause problems with replication in Exchange 2000 Server prior to Service Pack 2 (SP2). Therefore, it is recommended that you do not use variables in recipient policies, or that you upgrade Exchange 2000 Server to the latest service pack. Exchange 2000 Server SP2 and later support variables in the default recipient policy.
To modify any recipient policy
-
Start Exchange System Manager.
-
Click Organization, click Recipients, and then click Recipient Policies.
-
Double-click the policy that you want to change.
-
Click the E-Mail Addresses tab, and then edit the appropriate SMTP address or generation rule.
