The Microsoft® Exchange Server Analyzer Tool queries the Active Directory® directory service to determine the value of the versionNumber attribute for each Exchange Server object. The versionNumber attribute represents the version of Exchange Server that is running on the computer.

The Exchange Server Analyzer also queries the CIM_Datafile Microsoft Windows® Management Instrumentation (WMI) class to determine the value of the Version key for the STORE.EXE process.

If the Exchange Server Analyzer determines that the Version key for Store.exe has a value less than 7638, a warning is displayed.

This warning indicates that the Exchange Server computer is not running the latest available code for the version of Exchange Server running on the computer.

To correct this warning

  1. Download or order Service Pack 2 for Exchange Server 2003 from the "Service Pack 2 for Exchange Server 2003" Web site (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=54751).

  2. Review the Service Pack 2 release notes at the Exchange Server 2003 Service Pack 2 (SP2) Release Notes Web site (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=52072).

  3. Make a complete backup of the Exchange Server computer.

  4. Apply Service Pack 2 for Exchange Server 2003.
