The Microsoft® Exchange Server Analyzer Tool queries the Active Directory® directory service to determine the value of the versionNumber attribute for each Exchange Server object. The versionNumber attribute represents the version of Exchange Server that is running on the computer.
The Exchange Server Analyzer also queries the CIM_Datafile Microsoft Windows® Management Instrumentation (WMI) class to determine the value of the Version key for the STORE.EXE process. If the Exchange Server Analyzer determines that the Version key for STORE.EXE has a value in one of the following ranges, a warning is displayed:
- Greater than 6249 and less than or equal to
6396
- Greater than 6396 and less than or equal to
6487
- Greater than 6487 and less than or equal to
