The Microsoft® Exchange Server Analyzer Tool queries the CIM_Datafile Microsoft Windows® Management Instrumentation (WMI) class to determine the value of the Version key for EXSMTP.DLL. If the Exchange Server Analyzer determines that the Version key for EXSMTP.DLL does not equal 6556.0, a warning is displayed.

This warning indicates that the version of EXSMTP.DLL on this Exchange Server computer is from the Version 1 May 2004 Exchange 2000 Server Post-Service Pack 3 Rollup. A later update rollup is available for download.

To correct this warning

  1. Download the latest update (August 2004) from "Downloads for Exchange 2000 Server" (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=33457).

  3. Take a complete backup of the Exchange Server computer.
