The Microsoft® Exchange Server Analyzer Tool reads the following registry entry to determine whether default SMTP queuing configurations have been changed:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE System\CurrentControlSet\Services\SMTPSvc\Queuing

If the Exchange Server Analyzer finds that the CatRetryMinutes key has been set, the Exchange Server Analyzer displays a non-default message.

It is recommended that the default queuing values be modified only after complete consideration. The defaults were carefully selected for optimal performance in most environments. A general best practice is to address the root cause of the problem instead of modifying the queuing behavior on Exchange Server.

The Exchange Server Analyzer reports this configuration for informational purposes only. No action is required.
