The Microsoft® Exchange Server Analyzer Tool reads the following registry entry to determine whether Call Trace logging is enabled:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeIS\ParametersSystem\Disable Call Tracing

If the Exchange Server Analyzer finds that the registry value for Disable Call Tracing is present and configured with a value of 0, the Exchange Server Analyzer displays a non-default configuration message.

When Call Trace logging is enabled, function call data for the Store.exe processes is logged. Call Trace logging can cause a performance decrease of up to 4 percent. You should enable it only when you need it to troubleshoot slow or unresponsive Store.exe processes.

To revert to the default configuration
  1. Open a registry editor, such as Regedit.exe or Regedt32.exe.

  2. Navigate to: HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeIS\ParametersSystem

  3. Set the Disable Call Tracing registry value to 1. The Flush Call Traces key, RPC Requests Threshold key, and Call Tracing Logging Interval keys are not used when Call Tracing is disabled.

  4. Close the registry editor, and restart the Exchange server for the change to take effect.
