Before beginning the scan, the Microsoft® Exchange Server Best Practices Analyzer Tool will perform a network and permissions check, making sure that the account credentials specified are valid, and that the tool can connect to the Active Directory® directory service. If either of these checks fails, you will return to the Connect to Active Directory page, where you can re-enter both the name of the server on which Active Directory is running, and the credentials for logging on to Active Directory and Exchange servers.
