The Microsoft® Exchange Server Analyzer Tool queries the Active Directory® directory service to determine whether the number of address lists in the All Global Address Lists group in Active Directory is greater than 800. If the Exchange Server Analyzer finds that there are more than 800 global address lists in your Exchange Server organization, the Exchange Server Analyzer displays a warning.

It is recommended that you reduce the number of address lists in the All Global Address Lists group to fewer than 800 to avoid severe latencies during the Recipient Update Service operations. If you have more than 800 global address lists in your Exchange Server organization, the Recipient Update Service incurs severe latencies as it stamps mail-enabled objects.

Alternatively, you can disable the Recipient Update Service and use scripts to handle the tasks that the Recipient Update Service performs.

For more information about disabling the Recipient Update Service, see the Microsoft Knowledge Base article 296479, "Requirements for Disabling the Recipient Update Service" (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?Linkid=3052&kbid=296479).

For more information about address lists and the Recipient Update Service, see "Managing Recipients and Recipient Policies" in the Exchange Server 2003 Administration Guide (http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=47617).
