The Microsoft® Exchange Server Analyzer Tool queries the Active Directory® directory service to determine what the value is for the activationSchedule attribute of each Active Directory Connector (ADC) connection agreement object. The activationSchedule attribute corresponds to how frequently an ADC connection agreement is run. A value of 0 indicates the replication schedule is set to Never. A value of 1 indicates the schedule is set to Selected Times. A value of 2 indicates the schedule is set to Always.

The Exchange Server Analyzer also queries Active Directory to determine the value of the msExchServer2SearchFilter attribute on each ADC connection agreement object. The msExchServer2SearchFilter attribute represents the search filter that will be used when you search the directory.

If the Exchange Server Analyzer finds that the activationSchedule attribute is set to Selected Times, with a replication interval longer than 6 hours, and that the msExchServer2SearchFilter attribute is replicating recipient information, a warning is displayed.

Generally, it is best practice to set the replication schedule of recipient connection agreement to always replicate (Always). In some cases, setting the connection agreement to any other schedule may cause non-delivery reports (NDRs) after mailboxes are moved from Exchange Server 5.5 sites to Exchange 2000 Server or Exchange Server 2003.

To correct this warning

  1. Open the Active Directory Connector Services MMC snap-in.

  2. Open the Connection Agreement.

  3. On the Connection_Agreement Properties page, click the Schedule tab, click Always, and then click OK.
