Use the Sender ID feature to enable or disable the Sender ID agent and to access the properties pages for the Sender ID agent.

The Sender ID agent is an e-mail authentication technology protocol that helps address the problem of spoofing and phishing by verifying the domain name from which e-mail is sent. Sender ID validates the origin of e-mail by verifying the IP address of the sender against the purported owner of the sender domain.

By default, the Sender ID agent is enabled in the Edge Transport server role for inbound messages that come from the Internet but are not authenticated. When Sender ID is enabled on a computer, Sender ID filters all messages that come through all Receive connectors on that computer.
