Use the Remove-AttachmentFilterEntry cmdlet to remove an entry on the attachment filter list that's configured on a computer that has the Edge Transport server role or the Hub Transport server role installed.

Syntax

remove-attachmentfilterentry -Identity <String> [-Confirm [<SwitchParameter>]] [-DomainController <Fqdn>] [-WhatIf [<SwitchParameter>]]

Detailed Description

The Attachment Filter agent can block attachments from entering the Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 organization based on the content type or the file name of the attachment. You can use the Remove-AttachmentFilterEntry cmdlet to remove an entry on an attachment filter list configured on a computer that has the Edge Transport server role or the Hub Transport server role installed.

You need to be assigned permissions before you can run this cmdlet. Although all parameters for this cmdlet are listed in this topic, you may not have access to some parameters if they're not included in the permissions assigned to you. Parameters

Identity

The Identity parameter specifies the type of attachment that this filter entry removes. The Identity parameter accepts values in the format Type:Name, where Type is one of the following two values:

  • ContentType   This value matches the attachment filter entry against the MIME content type.

  • FileName   This value matches the attachment filter entry against the simple file name.

In Type:Name, Name can be either the file name of the attachment filter entry to be removed, or the content type of the attachment filter entry to be removed.

The Confirm switch can be used to suppress the confirmation prompt that appears by default when this cmdlet is run. To suppress the confirmation prompt, use the syntax -Confirm:$False. You must include a colon ( : ) in the syntax.

DomainController

Microsoft.Exchange.Data.Fqdn

The DomainController parameter specifies the fully qualified domain name (FQDN) of the domain controller that writes this configuration change to Active Directory. The DomainController parameter isn't supported on the Edge Transport server role. The Edge Transport server role writes only to the Active Directory Lightweight Directory Services (AD LDS) instance.

WhatIf

Optional

The WhatIf switch instructs the command to simulate the actions that it would take on the object. By using the WhatIf switch, you can view what changes would occur without having to apply any of those changes. You don't have to specify a value with the WhatIf switch.

Return Types
