This error indicates that the Test-UMConnectivity cmdlet can't conduct a local UM connectivity check because the Microsoft Exchange Unified Messaging service isn't running. Local UM connectivity checks are performed when Test-UMConnectivity is run interactively, in local mode, on the UM server or as part of the monitoring provided by the System Center Operation Manager (SCOM) management pack for Exchange Unified Messaging.
This event may occur because the Microsoft Exchange Active Directory Topology service can't start.
User Action
To resolve this error, do one or more of the following:
- Restart the Microsoft Exchange Active Directory Topology
service on the UM server.
- Restart the Microsoft Exchange Unified Messaging service on the
UM server.
- Restart the Unified Messaging server.
- Review the Application log and System log on your Exchange 2010
servers for related events. For example, events that occur
immediately before and after this event may provide more
information about the root cause of this error.
