Microsoft Exchange Server 2013 Setup displayed this warning because there is no Send connector in the current Exchange environment that is using an address space with the wildcard character of '*'.

The '*' character indicates that the Send connector can be used to relay messages to all external SMTP addresses. If no Send connector with an address space of '*' exists, mail flow to the Internet may not work correctly.

In response to this warning, configure a default Send connector with an address space that has the wildcard character '*'.

For more information about creating a default Send connector, see Create a Send Connector for Email Sent to the Internet.
