This topic explains how to use the Disable-StorageGroupCopy cmdlet to remove the copy of a storage group and its associated databases, as well as all configuration information associated with the storage group copy, from a server running Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 in a local continuous replication (LCR) configuration.

Syntax

disable-StorageGroupCopy -Identity <StorageGroupIdParameter> [-DomainController <Fqdn>]

Parameters

Parameter Required Type Description

Identity

Required

Microsoft.Exchange.Configuration.Tasks.StorageGroupIdParameter

The Identity parameter takes one of the following values:

  • GUID

  • Name of the storage group

DomainController

Optional

Microsoft.Exchange.Data.Fqdn

To specify the fully qualified domain name (FQDN) of the domain controller that locates the clustered mailbox server in the Active Directory directory service, include the DomainController parameter in the command.

Detailed Description

An Exchange administrator may want to remove an LCR copy from an existing storage group on an Exchange 2007 server.

To successfully initiate a Disable-StorageGroupCopy operation, the specified storage group must be configured as an LCR copy, and it must exist.

After a Disable-StorageGroupCopy operation has completed, the storage group and database copy configuration are cleared.

To run the Disable-StorageGroupCopy cmdlet, the account you use must be delegated the following:

  • Exchange Server Administrator role and local Administrators group for the target server

For more information about permissions, delegating roles, and the rights that are required to administer Exchange Server 2007, see Permission Considerations.
