This topic explains how to add an Exchange recipient configuration snap-in to Microsoft Management Console 3.0. In Microsoft Exchange Server 2007, you can customize the presentation of object properties that you access when you use the Exchange Management Console.

Before You Begin

To perform this procedure, the account you use must be delegated the following:

  • Exchange Organization Administrator role

Note:
If you want permissions to only view your recipients, you must have Exchange View-Only Administrator permissions.

Procedure

To add an Exchange Recipient Configuration node to Microsoft Management Console

  1. Click Start, click Run, type MMC in the Open field, and then click OK.

  2. On the Console menu bar, click File, and then click Add/Remove Snap-in.

  3. In Add/Remove Snap-in, on the Standalone tab, click Add.

  4. In Add Standalone Snap-in, select Exchange Server 2007 from the list of available stand-alone snap-ins, and then click Add.

  5. Click Close to close the Available Snap-ins dialog box, and then click OK on the Add/Remove Snap-in dialog box.

  6. Expand the Microsoft Exchange node, and then right-click the Recipient Configuration node and select New Window from Here.

  7. Maximize the Recipient Configuration window, and then select File and Options.

  8. Change the console name from Console 1 to EMC - Recipient Configuration.

  9. Change the console mode from Author Mode to User Mode - Full Access.

  10. Enable the Do not save changes to this console check box and then click OK.
