Use the Remove-ReceiveConnector cmdlet to delete a Receive connector on a computer that has the Hub Transport server role or the Edge Transport server role installed.

Syntax

Remove-ReceiveConnector -Identity <ReceiveConnectorIdParameter> [-Confirm [<SwitchParameter>]] [-DomainController <Fqdn>] [-WhatIf [<SwitchParameter>]]

Parameters

Parameter Required Type Description

Identity

Required

Microsoft.Exchange.Configuration.Tasks.ReceiveConnectorIdParameter

Use the Identity parameter to specify the GUID or connector name that represents a specific Receive connector. You can also include the server name by using the format ServerName\ConnectorName.

Confirm

Optional

System.Management.Automation.SwitchParameter

The Confirm parameter causes the command to pause processing and requires you to acknowledge what the command will do before processing continues. You don't have to specify a value with the Confirm parameter.

DomainController

Optional

Microsoft.Exchange.Data.Fqdn

To specify the fully qualified domain name of the domain controller that writes this configuration change to the Active Directory directory service, include the DomainController parameter on the command. The DomainController parameter is not supported on computers that have the Edge Transport server role installed. The Edge Transport server role writes and reads only to the local Active Directory Application Mode (ADAM) instance.

WhatIf

Optional

System.Management.Automation.SwitchParameter

The WhatIf parameter instructs the command to simulate the actions that it would take on the object. By using the WhatIf parameter, you can view what changes would occur without having to apply any of those changes. You don't have to specify a value with the WhatIf parameter.

Detailed Description

The Remove-ReceiveConnector cmdlet deletes the object and the configuration information for a Receive connector.

Caution:
Although a Receive connector is configured on a local Hub Transport server or an Edge Transport server, deleting a Receive connector may affect mail flow throughout the organization.

To run the Remove-ReceiveConnector cmdlet, the account you use must be delegated the following:

  • Exchange Server Administrator role and local Administrators group for the target server

To run the Remove-ReceiveConnector cmdlet on a computer that has the Edge Transport server role installed, you must log on by using an account that is a member of the local Administrators group on that computer.

For more information about permissions, delegating roles, and the rights that are required to administer Microsoft Exchange Server 2007, see Permission Considerations.

Example

The following code examples shows three commands that use the Remove-ReceiveConnector cmdlet.

When you run the first example, you will be prompted for the Identity parameter. When you are prompted for the Identity parameter, enter the Identity parameter as a string as follows, for example, as a GUID: de2a614d-dd4e8-4ef7-b113-b51bd14ac3e1 or as a connector name: "Contoso.com Receive Connector".

In the second example, the command deletes the object and configuration information for the Receive connector that is specified by the Identity parameter.

In the third example, the command runs without the Identity parameter label, leaving only the Identity parameter value.
