Use the Get-IPBlockListProvider cmdlet to view the configuration for a specific IP Block List provider on a computer that has the Hub Transport server role or Edge Transport server role installed.

Get-IPBlockListProvider [-Identity <IPBlockListProviderIdParameter>] [-DomainController <Fqdn>]

Parameter Required Type Description

To specify the fully qualified domain name (FQDN) of the domain controller that retrieves data from Active Directory directory service, include the DomainController parameter in the command. The DomainController parameter is not supported on computers that run the Edge Transport server role. The Edge Transport server role writes only to the local ADAM instance.

The Identity parameter can take either a string value, which is the ProviderName value, or the GUID.

Detailed Description

The IP Block List provider configuration is used by the Connection Filter agent. The Connection Filter agent relies on the IP address of the remote server that is trying to connect to determine what action, if any, to take on an incoming message. The remote IP address is available to the Connection Filter agent as a by-product of the underlying TCP/IP connection that is required for the SMTP session.

To run the Get-IPBlockListProvider cmdlet, the account you use must be delegated the following:

  • Exchange View-Only Administrators role

To run the Get-IPBlockListProvider cmdlet on a computer that has the Edge Transport server role installed, you must log on by using an account that is a member of the local Administrators group on that computer.
