Use the General tab on the POP3 and IMAP4 Properties page to specify a banner string for your POP3 and IMAP4 clients. Your POP3 and IMAP4 users will see the string when they log on to their mailbox.

After you have created a banner string for the POP3 or IMAP4 service by using the Exchange Management Console, you must restart either the POP3 or IMAP4 service, depending on which service you are using. For more information about how to restart the IMAP4 service, see How to Start and Stop the IMAP4 Service.
