Use the Message Delivery Restrictions dialog box to specify which senders are allowed to send or are prohibited from sending messages to this recipient.
Message delivery restrictions can be useful for controlling access to specific recipients in your Exchange 2007 organization. For example, several organizations specify that only a small set of users can send messages to very large distribution groups.
You can configure the following message delivery restrictions for a recipient.
- Accept messages from

Select one of the following options for accepting messages:
- All senders The recipient will accept
messages from all senders; both senders in the Exchange
organization and external senders. This is selected by default.
Note: This option includes external users only if you clear the Require that all senders are authenticated check box. If this check box is selected, messages from external users will be rejected, even if All Senders is selected. - Only senders in the following list The
recipient will accept messages only from a specified set of senders
in the Exchange organization.
- Click Add to select senders from whom to accept
messages. The Select Recipient dialog box displays a list of
all recipients in the Active Directory forest. Select the
recipients you want, and then click OK. You can also search
for a specific recipient by typing its name in the Search
box and then clicking Find Now.
- Click to delete the selected sender from the list.
- Click Add to select senders from whom to accept

all recipients in the Active Directory forest. Select the
recipients you want, and then click OK. You can also search
for a specific recipient by typing its name in the Search
box and then clicking Find Now.
- Require that all senders are
authenticated Select this check box to prevent
anonymous users from sending messages to the recipient. By default,
this check box is selected for distribution groups. This prevents
external senders from sending messages to distribution groups.
- All senders The recipient will accept
messages from all senders; both senders in the Exchange
organization and external senders. This is selected by default.
- Reject messages from

Select one of the following options for rejecting messages:
- No senders The recipient will not
reject messages from any senders in the Exchange organization. This
is selected by default.
- Senders in the following list The
recipient will reject messages from a specified set of senders in
the Exchange organization.
- Click Add to select senders from whom the recipient will
reject messages. The Select Recipient dialog box displays a
list of all recipients in the Active Directory forest. Select
the recipients you want, and then click OK. You can also
search for a specific recipient by typing its name in the
Search box and then clicking Find Now
- Click to delete the selected sender from the list.
