This topic provides information about a change to name mappings in Microsoft Outlook Web Access that is made when you install Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 3 (SP3). This change is made to the Outlook Web Access Contacts fields if the regional language is set to Catalan.
Consider the following scenario:
- You are working on a computer that is running a version of
Exchange 2007 that is earlier than
Exchange 2007 SP3.
- You create a contact in Outlook Web Access.
- Catalan is set as the regional language.
In this scenario, the contact name options are as follows:
- Nom (meaning "first name")
- Primer Cognom (meaning "first last name" or "paternal
last name").

Exchange 2007 SP3 includes changes that more accurately map maternal and paternal last names in Outlook Web Access Contacts. Exchange 2007 SP3 also includes changes that fix the incorrect middle name mapping.
In Exchange 2007 SP3, if the regional language is set to Catalan when you create a contact in Outlook Web Access, the name fields are mapped as follows:
- Nom in Catalan is mapped to First name in English
and in the underlying storage in Exchange.
- Segon Nom in Catalan is mapped to Middle name in
English and in the underlying storage in Exchange.
- Cognoms in Catalan is mapped to Last Name in
English and the underlying storage in Exchange. You should use
both the maternal last name and the paternal last name in this
field when you create a contact.
