Use the Move Mailbox wizard to move selected mailboxes from one server to another.

You can also use the Exchange Management Shell to move mailboxes. For more information, see the Move-Mailbox (RTM) cmdlet reference topic.

The Move Mailbox wizard allows you to move mailboxes in the following scenarios:

Note:
You cannot use the Move Mailbox wizard to move mailboxes across Exchange organizations. To move a mailbox from an Exchange organization in one forest to an Exchange organization in another forest, you must use the Move-Mailbox cmdlet. For more information about the Move-Mailbox cmdlet, see Move-Mailbox (RTM).

Use this page to specify the destination where you want to move the mailbox.

Server

Use this list to select the server where you want to move the mailbox. This list displays all Exchange 2007 Mailbox servers, Exchange 2003 servers, and Exchange 2000 servers that are available in the same Exchange organization.

Storage group

Use this list to select the storage group where you want to move the mailbox. This displays all storage groups that are available in the Exchange server that you specified in the Server list.

Mailbox database

Use this list to select the mailbox database where you want to move the mailbox. This list displays all mailbox databases that are available in the selected storage group, and on the selected Exchange server.
