Use the Get-AntispamUpdates cmdlet to determine the type of Microsoft Forefront Security for Exchange Server anti-spam updates that are retrieved. The Enable-AntispamUpdates and Disable-AntispamUpdates cmdlets can be used to set the mode by which the anti-spam updates are retrieved on a computer that has the Edge Transport server role or the Hub Transport server role installed.

Note:
The Forefront Security for Exchange Server update service polls Microsoft Update hourly to download updates or determine whether the opt-in status has changed. Therefore, it can take up to one hour for the opt-in action to be reflected in your system. If you want to verify the modified opt-in status immediately, restart the Microsoft Exchange Anti-spam Update service.

Syntax

Get-AntispamUpdates [-Identity <ServerIdParameter>] [-Confirm [<SwitchParameter>]] [-DomainController <Fqdn>] [-WhatIf [<SwitchParameter>]]

Parameters

Parameter Required Type Description

DomainController

Optional

Microsoft.Exchange.Data.Fqdn

To specify the fully qualified domain name (FQDN) of the domain controller that writes this configuration change to the Active Directory directory service, include the DomainController parameter on the command. The DomainController parameter is not supported on computers that run the Edge Transport server role. The Edge Transport server role reads and writes only to the local ADAM instance.

Identity

Optional

Microsoft.Exchange.Configuration.Tasks.ServerIdParameter

This parameter specifies the server that retrieves the anti-spam updates from Microsoft Updates. If no server is specified, settings are displayed for all servers.

Confirm

Optional

System.Management.Automation.SwitchParameter

The Confirm parameter causes the command to pause processing and requires you to acknowledge what the command will do before processing continues. You don't have to specify a value with the Confirm parameter.

WhatIf

Optional

System.Management.Automation.SwitchParameter

The WhatIf parameter instructs the command to simulate the actions that it would take on the object. By using the WhatIf parameter, you can view what changes would occur without having to apply any of those changes. You don't have to specify a value with the WhatIf parameter.
