Use the Filter tab to configure a variety of restrictions for the dynamic distribution group. For example, you can select an organizational unit (OU) in the Active Directory directory service that contains the recipients you want to include in the dynamic distribution group. You can also specify the recipient types to include in the group.

The following filter settings are available for a dynamic distribution group.
- Select the recipient container where you want to apply this filter

- Click Browse to select the OU for the dynamic
distribution group. This opens the Select Organizational
Unit dialog box. Select the OU you want, and then click
OK.
- A dynamic distribution group contains all recipients that are
in the specified OU and any other OUs under it. By default, this OU
is the Users container in the Active Directory domain
that contains the Exchange server.
- Click Browse to select the OU for the dynamic
distribution group. This opens the Select Organizational
Unit dialog box. Select the OU you want, and then click
OK.
- Include these recipient types

- You can have the dynamic distribution group include all
recipient types or only specific recipient types. For example, you
can create a dynamic distribution group that contains only the
resource mailboxes in your Exchange organization.
- All recipient types Click this button
to include all recipient types.
- The following specific types Click this
button to select specific recipient types. Clicking this button
activates the following check boxes. You must select at least one
recipient type:
- Users with Exchange mailboxes Select
this check box to include user and linked mailboxes.
- Users with external e-mail
addresses Select this check box to include
users that are mail-enabled but do not have Exchange mailboxes.
- Resource mailboxes Select this check
box to include room and equipment mailboxes.
- Contacts with external e-mail
addresses Select this check box to include
mail contacts.
- Mail-enabled groups Select this check
box to include mail-enabled groups.
- Users with Exchange mailboxes Select
this check box to include user and linked mailboxes.
