This topic explains how to use the Exchange Management Console or the Exchange Management Shell to disable local continuous replication (LCR) for a storage group.

Note:
After you disable LCR, you must manually delete any files in the LCR storage group and database folders.

Before You Begin

To perform the following procedures, the account you use must be delegated the following:

  • Exchange Server Administrator role and local Administrators group for the target server

Procedure

To use the Exchange Management Console to disable local continuous replication

  1. Open the Exchange Management Console.

  2. Expand Microsoft Exchange, expand Server Configuration, and then select Mailbox.

  3. In the result pane, select the Mailbox server that contains the storage group that you want to disable.

  4. In the work pane, right-click the storage group that you want to disable, and then select Disable Local Continuous Replication.

  5. At the confirmation prompt, click Yes.

  6. A Microsoft Exchange Warning message will appear confirming that LCR has been disabled. Click OK to acknowledge the warning.

  7. Manually delete the LCR storage group and database files from the location specified in the warning message.

To use the Exchange Management Shell to disable local continuous replication

  1. Run the following command:

    Disable-StorageGroupCopy -Identity <StorageGroup>
    
  2. Manually delete the LCR storage group and database files.
