The Communicator Web Access snap-in is not automatically installed when you install Communicator Web Access. You must install the snap-in separately. You do not need to install Communicator Web Access on the same computer where you install the Communicator Web Access snap-in. You can install the snap-in on any computer that meets the following criteria:
- Is a member of an Active Directory forest where Office
Communications Server 2007 R2 has already been installed.
- Is running a 64-bit version of the Windows operating system
(including Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003, or Windows Server
2008).
- Has the following software installed:
- SQL Server Native Client
- Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable
- Microsoft .NET Framework
- Office Communications Server 2007 R2 Core Components
- SQL Server Native Client
If you install Office Communications Server 2007 R2 or Communicator Web Access (2007 R2 release) using the Setup wizard, the prerequisite software is installed on your computer for you. Otherwise you must install each of these components manually.
When you install the Communicator Web Access snap-in, you also install the Office Communications Server 2007 Administrative Tools. You cannot install the snap-in by itself.
You can also easily uninstall the Communicator Web Access snap-in from a computer.
To install Communicator Web Access Snap-in

Log on to the computer as a member of the local Administrators group and the RTCUniversalServerAdmins group.

From the Office Communications Server 2007 R2 installation media, double-click SetupSE.exe(that is, if you are installing the Standard Edition) or SetupEE.exe(that is, if you are installing the Enterprise Edition).

In the Office Communications Server 2007 R2 Deployment Wizard, click Administrative Tools.

On the License Agreementpage, click I accept the terms in the license agreement, and then click Next.
Note: Setup will not continue unless you accept the license terms.
To uninstall the Communicator Web Access Snap-in on a computer running Windows Server 2008

Log on to the computer where the Communicator Web Access snap-in is installed. You must log on as a member of the local Administrators group and the RTCUniversalServerAdmins group.

Click Start, point to Control Panel, and then click Programs and Features.

In Programs and Features, right-click Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 R2, Administrative Tools, and then click Change.

In the Office Communications Server 2007 R2, Communicator Web Access Wizard, on the Confirm Uninstallationpage, click Next.

On the Uninstallation Completepage, click Close.
To uninstall the Communicator Web Access Snap-in on a computer running Windows Server 2003

Log on to the computer where the Communicator Web Access snap-in is installed. You must log on as a member of the local Administrators group and the RTCUniversalServerAdmins group.

Click Startand then click Control Panel.

In Control Panel, double-click Add or Remove Programs.

In Add or Remove Programs, click Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 R2, Administrative Tools, and then click Remove.

In the Office Communications Server 2007 R2, Communicator Web Access Wizard, on the Confirm Uninstallationpage, click Next.

On the Uninstallation Completepage, click Close.
