If your present deployment includes a Director, you will need to deploy Office Communications Server 2007 R2, Director. For details, see Deploy a Directorin the Deploying Edge Servers for External User Access documentation.

If you are not currently using a Director, we recommend that you deploy one. Alternatively, you will need to identify an Office Communications Server 2007 R2 pool as the next-hop server when you deploy Office Communications Server 2007 R2, Edge Server.
