Unlike the Office Communications Server Administrative Tools, the Communicator Web Access snap-in does not include an Event Log tab for each server. That means that you must use the Windows Event Viewer to view Communicator Web Access events. The procedures that you use to view these events vary depending on whether you are running on Windows Server 2003 or Windows Server 2008.

To view events on a computer running Windows Server 2008

Log on to a computer running Communicator Web Access. You must log on as a member of the local Administrators group.

Click Start, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Event Viewer.

In Event Viewer, expand Applications and Services Logs, and then click Office Communications Server.

To limit the displayed events to Communicator Web Access, right-click Office Communications Server, and then click Filter Current Log.

In the Filter Current Logdialog box, on the Filtertab, click the Event sourceslist.

In the Event sourceslist, select any (or all) of the event sources that pertain directly to Communicator Web Access:

Click outside the dialog box to get out of the Event sourceslist, and then click OK.
To view events on a computer running Windows Server 2003
