Call Park, Announcement, and Response Group applications require that Windows Media Format Runtime is installed on Front End Servers running Windows Server 2008. The Windows Media Format Runtime is required for Windows Media Audio (WMA) files that these applications play for announcements and music.
We recommend that you install Windows Media Format Runtime before you install Microsoft Communications Server 2010. If Communications Server 2010 does not find this software on the server, it will prompt you and install it, but this will require an additional restart.
