The new Call Park application in Microsoft Communications Server 2010 makes it possible for Enterprise Voice users to put a call on hold and then retrieve it later from any phone. When a user parks a call, Call Park provides an orbit number that identifies where the call is temporarily held. The user who parked the call can either dial the orbit number to retrieve the parked call or use an external mechanism, such as instant messaging or a paging system, to notify someone else of the number for retrieval.

Call Park is useful for continuing a call from a different location and for transferring a call when the final recipient is unknown.

Call Park is a call management feature of Enterprise Voice. When you deploy Enterprise Voice, an administrator must configure the orbit routing table and Call Park settings, and enable Call Park for users through voice policy before it can be used.
