Managing Recipient Settings

Create and Modify Offline Address Lists

An offline address list is a set of address lists contained in files generated and stored in a system public folder. You can create multiple offline address lists that remote users can access and use to obtain information about other users in the organization. You can modify offline address lists when you create new address lists or when the address lists contained in the offline address list are modified or deleted.

When connecting to an Exchange server remotely, users can download offline address lists containing one or more address lists that you specified. Users can also choose to download only the changes that occurred since the last download.

Important   The offline address lists for Exchange 2000 users can only be generated by an Exchange 2000 server.
