Filter Conversations on All Dynamic Channels

One Profanity Filter is used to filter conversations on all of the dynamic channels associated with your chat community. Filtering dynamic channels includes messages sent with these commands: Privmsg, Whisper, and Notice.

To filter conversations in all the dynamic channels on your chat community:

  1. Start System Manager
    On the Start menu, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Exchange, and then click System Manager.
  2. Navigate to the IRCX folder for the server hosting the chat community where you want to filter offensive language.

    Servers

    1. Server_name
    2. Protocols
    3. IRCX
  3. Right-click IRCX, and then click Properties.
  4. On the IRCX Protocol General tab, choose the chat community where you want to filter conversations on all dynamic channels, and then click Properties.
  5. In Properties, click Extensions.
  6. If the Profanity Filter extension does not appear in the Extensions list, click Add.
  7. If the Profanity Filter extension does appear, go to step 9.

  8. In Add Extension, select the Profanity Filter extension from the list in Extension.
  9. Stop, then restart the service.
  10. Select the Profanity Filter extension in Extensions, and then click Properties.
  11. On the Community PFilter Properties General tab, select the Filter dynamic channels check box.
  12. In Select filter, select the filter you want to filter conversations on all dynamic channels.

Tip   You can also apply a filter to all dynamic channels on the server using the following command from a chat client:

EXTMSG PFILTER SET DYNAMIC=filter_name
