Edit Authentication Methods

Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server automatically enables Basic Authentication. Although most POP3 clients support this method of transmitting user passwords across the network, data is sent as unencrypted information. To enhance security, you can use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) with Basic Authentication to encrypt all information.

To edit authentication methods:

• Use SSL with Basic Authentication
• Disable Basic Authentication
