Create Additional Virtual Servers

A default POP3 virtual server is provided with Exchange. You can edit the default virtual server and create additional virtual servers on a single computer to handle multiple local mail domains and provide administration for several messaging scenarios. The number of POP3 virtual servers you can create is limited only by the resources of the Exchange server.

To create a new virtual server:

  1. Start System Manager
    on the Start menu, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Exchange, and then click System Manager.
  2. Navigate to POP3.

  3. In the console tree, right-click POP3, point to New, and then select POP3 virtual server.
  4. To name the virtual server and assign an IP address, TCP port, and SSL port, complete the New POP3 Virtual Server Wizard.
  5. Once you complete the wizard, use the following procedures to configure the default settings:
