Specify an Import Filter
You can set options for filtering GroupWise directory entries during import. When you filter addresses, you can specify domains, post offices, or individual recipients that you want to include or exclude from the import container. You specify a filter using the same form as a GroupWise address, as follows:
GroupWise_domain.Post_office.Object_ID
You can use the wildcard characters asterisk (*) and question mark (?), where an asterisk denotes any number of characters of any value, and a question mark denotes one character of any value.
The following table shows examples that you might configure.
Import filter | Description |
---|---|
NewYork01.PO1.* | Imports only the recipients at post office PO1 in the NewYork01 domain. |
*.PO1.* | Import all recipients in any PO1 post office in any GroupWise domain. |
*.PO?.* | Import all recipients in any GroupWise post office that has a three-character name, where the first two characters are "PO". |
To specify an import filter:
Option | Description |
---|---|
Import all directory entries | Imports all directory entries from the GroupWise system to Exchange. This is the default. |
Only import directory entries of these formats | Imports GroupWise addresses that correspond to the specified formats. For example, to import addresses from GroupWise post office PO1 exclusively, type *.PO1.*, using the wildcard character asterisk (*). |
Do not import directory entries of these formats | Excludes GroupWise addresses that correspond to the specified formats. For example, to exclude addresses from GroupWise post office PO1 exclusively, type *.PO1.*, using the wildcard character asterisk (*). |
New | Specify a new address format to include or exclude during directory synchronization. |
Edit | Modify an address format to include or exclude during directory synchronization. |
Remove | Delete an address format. |
