Select the Server Used to Expand a Group

You can select the expansion server used to expand a mail-enabled group into a list of group members. If e-mail sent to a group is from a mailbox on one of your Exchange servers, select the server from which the e-mail was sent to expand the group. If e-mail sent to a group is external e-mail, select the bridgehead server to expand the group. You can also specify a server to expand a mail-enabled group. The default selection is Any server in the organization.

To select a server to expand a group into a list of group members:

  1. Start Active Directory Users and Computers
    On the Start menu, point to Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Active Directory Users and Computers.
  2. In Active Directory Users and Computers, on the View menu, click Advanced Features.
  3. In the console tree, expand the Windows 2000 domain. Double-click Users, or double-click the node that contains the recipient information you want to modify.
  4. In the details pane, double-click the group you want to modify.
  5. On the Exchange Advanced tab, in the Expansion Server drop-down list, select a server to expand the group.
