When you create a
schedule for Mailbox Manager, you also have the option of
creating a report and sending that report to a designated
administrator mailbox. The report details the times Mailbox Manager
ran, the mailboxes it processed, the number of messages it moved or
deleted, and the size of the messages it moved or deleted. You can
choose to have a summary report sent to an administrator or a
detailed report sent to an administrator.
Summary Report
A summary report is e-mailed to the designated administrator
mailbox and contains basic information, including the total size of
all messages moved or deleted by Mailbox Manager. A summary report
looks similar to this:
The Microsoft Exchange Server Mailbox Manager has completed
processing mailboxes
Started at: 11/16/00 12:55:03
Completed at: 11/16/00 12:56:08
Mailboxes processed: 200
Messages moved: 30
Size of moved messages: 32.40 KB
Deleted messages: 25
Size of deleted messages: 25.00 KB
Detailed Report
The other reporting option is to have a detailed report attached
to the summary report e-mail. The detailed report includes the
specific policies Mailbox Manager is running, the specific
mailboxes processed, and the specific folders within each mailbox
that are processed each time Mailbox Manager is run.
In this example, a policy called "send notification check" was
run by Mailbox Manager. A total of four mailboxes were processed in
this run, but only the last one (EricM@winery-co.co) is shown in
the example. At the bottom of every detailed report is a summary of
message number totals and message size totals, similar to the
summary report example above.
