Set X.400 General Properties

The X.400 protocol provides addressing and routing information for sending messages from one server to another.

To set general X.400 properties:

  1. Start System Manager
    On the Start menu, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Exchange, and then click System Manager.
  2. Navigate to the X.400 container in the console tree.

  3. Right-click the server, and then click Properties:
  4. Click the General tab.
  5. The Local X.400 name identifies the X.400 agent to foreign systems. It defaults to the name of the server on which the X.400 agent is installed. To change the local X.400 name, click Modify. In Local X.400 name, type a name of up to 32 characters. To set the password that foreign systems use when connecting to this X.400 agent, in Password, type a password of up to 64 characters.

  6. To make a remote distribution list available to users in your site, click Expand remote distribution lists locally.
  7. To change the address and content of incoming messages to a format compatible with MAPI and Exchange, click Convert incoming messages to Exchange contents.
