The Microsoft® Exchange Server Analyzer Tool queries the Active Directory® directory service proxyAddress attribute value for all user objects to determine whether there is a match for the user-specified local sender Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) address.

If a user object proxyAddress match is found, the Exchange Server Analyzer then queries Active Directory for the value of the msExchHomeServerName attribute for the user object to determine whether that value matches the user-specified Exchange Server name.

If the Exchange Server Analyzer determines that the value of the msExchHomeServerName attribute for the user-specified sender does not match the user specified Exchange Server name, the Exchange Server Analyzer displays a warning.

This warning indicates either that an incorrect Exchange Server name has been provided or that the mail flow issue affects a server other than the one specified by the user.

To address this issue, verify the correct Exchange Server name is entered.

To view the user mailboxes on the specified server
  1. Start Exchange System Manager:

Click Start, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Exchange, and then click System Manager.

  2. In Exchange System Manager, navigate to and then click the following container:

    \Administrative Groups\ GroupName \Servers\ ServerName \ StorageGroupName \Mailbox Store\Mailboxes

  3. Verify the user mailbox specified is displayed on the Exchange server specified.
