The Microsoft® Exchange Server Analyzer Tool reads the following registry entry to determine whether Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) connector routing logic has been modified from its default setting:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\RESvc\Parameters\PollingInterval

If the Exchange Server Analyzer finds that the PollingInterval registry key is present and configured with a value greater than 300, a non-default configuration message is displayed.

The PollingInterval registry entry is a custom configuration setting for Exchange Server that helps control the frequency of link state traffic among routing groups, specifically to and from the routing group master within a routing group. Increasing this setting will prevent connections from failing, but it may prevent you from addressing the larger issue of slow links between members of a routing group.
