Use the Enable Storage Group Local Continuous Replication Wizard to enable local continuous replication (LCR) for a storage group. LCR is a single-server solution that uses asynchronous log shipping technology to create and maintain a copy of a storage group on a second set of disks that are connected to the same server as the production storage group. LCR provides log shipping, log replay, and a quick switch to a secondary copy of the data. The following sequence represents the LCR life cycle:

Use this wizard page to confirm that the storage group was successfully enabled for LCR. Click Finish to complete the Enable Local Continuous Replication Wizard.

A status of Completed indicates that the wizard completed the task successfully. A status of Failed indicates that the task was not completed. If the task fails, review the summary for an explanation, and then click Back to make any configuration changes.

The summary pane lists the following fields.

Management Shell command

This field lists the Exchange Management Shell command that was used to enable LCR. If the task is successful, this text is displayed as Management Shell command completed. If the task fails, this text is displayed as Management Shell command attempted.

Note:
You can press CTRL+C to copy the text in the summary pane to the clipboard. After the text has been copied to the clipboard, you can paste it into a document or screen.

Recommended Next Steps

After you have enabled a storage group for LCR, we recommend that you verify the health and status of the storage group copy after it has been seeded. For detailed steps that explain how to view status information, see How to View the Status of a Local Continuous Replication Copy.
