This topic explains how to use the Exchange Management Console and the Exchange Management Shell to delete an existing Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 Unified Messaging (UM) dial plan. When you delete the UM dial plan, the UM dial plan will no longer be available to be used by other UM objects such as UM servers, UM IP gateways, UM mailbox policies and UM hunt groups. You will not be able to delete a UM dial plan if it is referenced by or associated with other Unified Messaging objects such as UM mailbox policies, UM auto attendants UM IP gateways, UM hunt groups, or UM servers. For more information about how to determine which UM objects are associated with or linked to a UM dial plan, see the following topics:

Before You Begin

To perform this procedure, the account you use must be delegated the Exchange Organization Administrator role.

For more information about permissions, delegating roles, and the rights that are required to administer Exchange 2007, see Permission Considerations.

Also, before you perform these procedures, confirm that a UM dial plan has been created.
