The Microsoft® Exchange Server Analyzer Tool queries the Win32_Service Microsoft Windows® Management Instrumentation (WMI) class to determine the value of the Started key for the SpntSvc service. The SpntSvc service is installed by ServerProtect for Microsoft Windows, which is a Trend Micro product. A value of True for the Started key indicates the service is running, and a value of False indicates the service is not running. If the Exchange Server Analyzer finds the SpntSvc service is not started, a warning is displayed.

ServerProtect for Microsoft Windows provides file system-based antivirus scanning for servers, including detection and removal of viruses in real time.

To start the SpntSvc service

  1. Open the Services MMC snap-in.

  2. Right-click ServerProtect Server service, and then click Properties.

  3. On the General tab of the ServerProtect Server property page, make sure the Start-up type is set to Automatic. If it is not, set it to Automatic, click Apply, and then click OK.

  4. Right-click ServerProtect Server service, and then click Start.

  5. Close the Services snap-in.
