The Microsoft® Exchange Server Analyzer Tool queries the CIM_Datafile Microsoft Windows® Management Instrumentation (WMI) class to determine whether the MSExchange.UceContentFilter.dll exists in the following path on the Exchange Server:

<path to Exchange server binary files>\MSCFv2\MSExchange.UceContentFilter.dll

Note:
In this path, <path to Exchange server binary files> refers to the location of the bin folder.

If MSExchange.UceContentFilter.dll does not exist in this location, the Exchange Server Analyzer displays a best practice recommendation.

It is recommended that the filter update for Microsoft Exchange Intelligent Message Filter is installed on all Exchange Servers that have Intelligent Message Filter installed. The filter update for Intelligent Message Filter provides the latest Intelligent Message Filter SmartScreen™ filter update for Intelligent Message Filter. The filter update to the SmartScreen filter contains updated spam characteristics that improve the ability of Intelligent Message Filter to block unsolicited commercial e-mail messages, also known as spam.

Note:
Before you install the update, you must install Intelligent Message Filter. To install Intelligent Message Filter, use an account that has local administrative rights and a member of a group that has had Exchange Administrators role applied.

After you install Intelligent Message Filter, perform the following procedure to install updates.
