This topic explains how to install Microsoft Transporter for Lotus Domino.

Before You Begin

Determine if you will be installing on a Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 server or on a workstation that has the Exchange 2007 Administration Tools installed.

If you are installing on an Exchange 2007 server or a Microsoft Windows XP 64-bit client, use the Transporter.msi file to install the 64-bit version of the Transporter suite.

If you are installing on a 32-bit client, use the Transporter32.msi file to install the 32-bit version of the Transporter suite.

Note:
You cannot install Microsoft Transporter for Lotus Domino and the Microsoft Transporter Suite for Internet Mail or the Microsoft Online Services Migration Tools on the same computer.

To perform this procedure, the account you use must be delegated the following:

  • Exchange Server Administrator role and local Administrators group for the target server

  • Server account must have Account Operator role for the applicable Active Directory containers

Install Lotus Notes 6.x or 7.x on the same computer where you installed the Transporter. This client must have access to any Lotus Domino server that will be used for directory synchronization, free/busy lookups, or migration. The Notes client must have the following rights:

  • To synchronize Directories   Editor or higher access to the Domino Directory (names.nsf) plus [UserCreator] and [UserModifier] roles in the directory's Access Control List (ACL)

  • To perform Free/Busy lookups   Reader or higher access to Freetime application (busytime.nsf)

  • To migrate users   Reader or higher access to the Domino Directory (names.nsf)

  • To migrate mail   Reader or higher access to the mail databases

  • To migrate applications   Reader or higher access to the applications

Procedure

To install Microsoft Transporter

  1. Start Transporter.msi (64-bit installation) or Transporter32.msi (32-bit installation) on the computer where the suite will be installed.

  2. At the Welcome page, click Next.

  3. Review the License Agreement, select I accept the terms in the License Agreement, and then click Next.

  4. When prompted for the Components to install, select Microsoft Transporter Tools to install the Transporter Shell and Console. Select Free Busy Connector Add-In Task for Lotus Domino if you are installing this feature on a Lotus Domino server.

  5. Accept or change the default location for the installation by clicking Browse, and then click Next.

  6. Click Install.

  7. Click Finish.
