The components and deployment requirements for the clients to be used for conferencing and telephony in your organizations are determined by the type of client-based support you want to provide, which can include Communicator clients and Live Meeting clients.

If your organization wants to support Group Chat, mobile access, and external user access (including access by users of specific public IM providers, remote internal users, and external users in federated domains), you can enable support for Group Chat clients, mobile clients, and clients outside your organization. For details about providing support for these types of clients, see Group Chat, Planning for Mobile Access, and Planning for External User Access.

Additionally, you can deploy Web-based client access. For details about deploying Web-based support, see Communicator Web Access Support.
