Enable Offline Address List Support for Legacy Exchange Users

By default, Exchange 2000 improves offline address list performance by disabling support for Exchange version 5.0 or earlier. If your site supports servers running Exchange version 5.0 or earlier, you must enable support for these servers.

To enable offline address list support for legacy Exchange systems:

  1. Start System Manager
    On the Start menu, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Exchange, and then click System Manager.
  2. In the console tree, double-click Recipients, and then click Offline Address Lists.
  3. In the details pane, double-click the offline address list for which you want to enable the support of legacy systems.
  4. In the offline address list Properties dialog box, select the Exchange 4.0 and 5.0 compatibility check box, click Apply, and then click OK.
