Create Newsgroups

Use New Newsgroup Wizard to create a newsgroup. When you create a new newsgroup, NNTP Service creates the directory for the newsgroup automatically. If you want a moderator to review new articles before they are posted, you can create a moderated newsgroup.

To create a newsgroup:

1. Start System Manager
   On the Start menu, point to Programs, point to Microsoft Exchange, and then click System Manager.
2. Navigate to an NNTP virtual server.

   Servers

   1. Server
   2. Protocols
   3. NNTP
   4. NNTP virtual server
3. In the console tree, right-click Newsgroups, point to New, and then click Newsgroup.
4. Complete New Newsgroup Wizard.

Note   If you use a pretty name to type in another name for the newsgroup, the pretty name is returned by the List Prettynames NNTP command.
